Two of CSC’s very own received the 2015 Public Service Award of Excellence (PSAE) at a ceremony held on Wednesday, September 16 at Rideau Hall in Ottawa. His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Janice Charette, Clerk of the Privy Council, presented the awards.
The PSAE recognizes employees who have demonstrated excellence in achieving results for Canadians and who reflect the priorities of the public service, while demonstrating key leadership competencies.
Dr. Jeremy Mills was recognized for his contributions to the scientific community. He has greatly contributed to the field of forensic psychology through his continuous risk assessments and research, including his development of the depression/hopelessness scale that is used by CSC to assess offenders. Dr. Mills is a “gold standard” scientist-practitioner, conducting both scientific research, as well as applied clinical work – something few scientists ever achieve.
Martin Gagnon was recognized for his work on the interdepartmental Ebola Response Team that ensured consistent and timely high-quality advice to decision makers in an often fast-paced and complex environment. As part of the team, he worked under intense pressure to support domestic and international efforts to save lives, support health and security, and address the spread of the disease.
