October is Canada’s Healthy Workplace month – an annual celebration designed to promote workplace health. CSC is committed to being the best workplace it can be, and that means helping employees stay healthy and safe in the workplace and community.
The reality is that we all spend a lot of time at work and a healthy workplace is crucial to our success as an organization. A healthy workplace is an environment where all employees feel appreciated and recognized. Employees are also encouraged and supported to maintain a healthy lifestyle by being offered information and opportunities that will benefit their physical and mental health.
As the Clerk of the Privy Council, Janice Charette, outlined in her Twenty-Second Annual Report to the Prime Minister on the Public Service of Canada, the Public Service needs to focus on building a healthy, respectful and supportive work environment. Having a workforce of strong mind and body results in professional, confident, and high performing employees, which ultimately helps us fulfill our public safety goals for Canadians.
We are all responsible for creating a healthy workplace. Let’s work together to foster a healthy and positive workplace that is conducive to a productive and supportive environment for everyone. Together we can show that #WeAreCollaborative, #WeAreAgile and #WeAreProud and ensure that CSC is an environment that contributes to employee well-being and encourages a culture based on CSC Values.
At CSC, we have many programs and resources that promote a healthy workplace and employee and support health and wellness for staff. For more information about these services please visit CSC’s Healthy Workplace InfoNet page.
