This summer, in front of City Hall in Kingston, Ontario, the fourth annual Fire Truck Pull - Pull Together for Epilepsy was held. All profits raised from this event support education and awareness for those affected by epilepsy. For the third year in a row, staff at Bath Institution were honoured to pull together for one of their own.
Joe Augustyn, a correctional officer at Bath Institution, has a 14-year-old daughter named Sadie who struggles with this disease on a daily basis. Sadie’s warrior spirit is what inspired staff, family, and friends to help raise over $900 for the cause. This year, as in the previous three, the team - Sadie’s Clydesdales - was successful in winning the fastest pull against ten other teams, pulling the fire truck in 22.05 seconds. The team was also named the overall winner and brought home the trophy.
They are already looking forward to pulling for Sadie again next year. Congratulations to all!
